"If it was not for one piece, the whole will be unfinished, so piecing together the fragments, to make it one whole but simultaneously, the fragment itself needs to be whole on its own, to fit in the external ONE." Filomina Pawar.

Open Fragment Online Show
Pragmata Collective
London, UK
3rd of April 2021 - 17th April 2021
Opening event: Twitch Live Stream, 3rd of April.
Open Fragment is an exhibition organised by the Pragmata Collective as an experiment in open
ended curatorship: where every person who submitted work would be accepted!
Open Fragment
asks what happens if you skip the selection process and have a show that includes
every artwork, every fragment of the interconnected artist communities that stumble across the
open call.
Inspired by the words of Schlegel: ‘“What are fragments? What is it that gives them such high value?
(...) To what extent can they be regarded, though fragments, as whole?”
The exhibition asks questions about inclusivity, empathy, connection, and value in art and
exhibitioning. Open Fragment is about experimenting with the chance outcome of the
interconnectedness of the internet open call. It is about how we utilise the amorphous space of an
online platform, in that its tentacles reach out through the millions of wifi hubs around the globe
with varying speeds and varying accessibility.
Coming from all over the world, the artworks of over 200 artists are exhibited in the pink, virtual
forest where the visitors encounter these images on a tree, a bush, a rock.
Please join us for the opening event where we will explore the forest on Twitch on the 3rd of April.
Pragmata Collective is the collaborative practice of artists Adele Lazzeri and Toby Tobias Kidd.
Formed out of a project in 2017 in Zagreb at GMK Gallery, we have been working on various projects
since, developing a joint practice sitting outside yet within our two personal artistic preoccupations.
